About Us

The Red Squirrel Children’s Nursery was established on the outskirts of Dundee in 2006, with our sister Nursery opening in 2015 in the grounds of Glendoick Estate, a short drive from Perth City Centre.

Our inspiration is drawn from the outdoor education approach that is popular in Scandinavia. This approach encourages children to learn and explore through outdoor play and interaction with nature. We believe that experiencing the natural world is essential for a child’s development and we are dedicated to incorporating this philosophy into every aspect of our Curriculum.

Our services provide unparalleled early education and childcare for children ranging from infancy to 5 years old.

We work in conjunction with Dundee City Council and Perth & Kinross Council to offer funded provision for 3-5year-olds.

Don't Just Take Our Word For It...

I wanted to say to you how delighted we are so far with the care that our son has been given. When I took him home yesterday after only his second time being there he was just so happy and fulfilled! This could be such a difficult time for him and the fact that he was so happy yesterday is clear evidence that he has been given the cuddles, structure and support that he needs. Also, compliments to the chef! His lunch was so delicious I am so happy to know he is in safe and caring hands while I return to work. Thank you to all the team

His key worker has been amazing with our son. He has taken a real shine to her and you can see this in person and in photos we get from nursery. It’s made my transition back to work so much easier and enjoyable, knowing he’s happy and well looked after. He’s a cheeky chappie and I am happy it seems his personality is coming out with you guys too. Well done and keep up the good work.

My son has been a different child since attending Red Squirrel. He’s never walked into nursery without being really upset until now. Moving nurseries halfway through this time was a hard choice but one I’m glad I made. He talks positively about all of the team and I can’t thank everyone enough for making this big step seem so easy!

A beautiful setting with lots of outdoor opportunities. Staff are very nurturing and understand the needs and likes of my little one. My son has loved coming to the nursery from 6 months old and enjoys telling me about his day while looking through photos on the nursery app.
